Sobre Joaquin
I am an English teacher with over 10 years of experience. Over the course of my career, I have taught IB, IPC, and GAC curricula in private schools. In addition, I have experience as a corporate and private English and Spanish language coach.
In addition to making your profesional profile more marketable, learning a new language stimulates a person's cognitive, academic, and professional development. Language learning also helps you develop your communicative skills and opens the door to multilingual settings and diverse perspectives around the world. These are the main reason why I like to teach a foreign language.
I was born in Mexico and had the great opportunity to live and study in the USA for many years. Being fully bilingual helps me understand the challenges that Spanish-speaking learners face when they study English. This understanding comes in handy to help learners overcome many challenges.

My teaching technique for academic English learners (elementary, middle and high school students) follows the objectives and guidelines of curricular guidelines. So, my classes focus on the learning objectives of a specific lesson, which I reinforce with extra activities to drill down on the main lesson objective.
My classes expose students to learning techniques, communicative meaning of language, related use and meaning of language, in-class practice, assessment, and lesson reflection.
