Sobre Adriana
I am a bilingual teacher, I have good level of fluency in speaking, reading and writing English and French verifiable with the TOFFLE exam. I did my Maters degree program and I took advanced English courses at Pratt Institute in New York, where I lived for almost ten years. I learned French at Helvetia High School, where I did my undergrad studies. I have a degree in Learning and Didactics and I have done complementary courses in the Educational field:
1. Development of innovative ideas for effective teaching.
2. Collaborative Learning.
3. Educational Leadership in the Classroom.
Additionally I have attended seminars as listed below:
1. Learning environment and classroom management.
2. Gamification in virtual classes.
3. Virtual good practices in science.
4. Teaching for understanding.
5. Cooperative learning.
At this moment I am studying to gain my CELTA certification (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
I am a self contained special education teacher for kids from three to twelve years old. I have been a private teacher for 15 years both in New York and in Bogotá. Between my responsibilities I have planned lessons with faculty members and coordinators. Additionally I have applied the philosophy of values and strategy of the school. I seek to maintain effective communications with parents, administrators and other teachers. I am updated in pedagogy issues as well as in discipline areas. I am a professional with a high sense of belonging, king organization and planning skills. Likewise I have leadership abilities, good communication and empathy. Through rigorous high work I have been able to achieve outstanding results. I have effectively managed classes both face to face and on line. I am a committed, responsible and disciplined person. I work under pressure and I adapt quickly to changes. Right now I am teaching English for the little ones at RECREARTE KINDER GARDEN. Between my responsibilities are to support children with English as a second language, develop strategies and schedules for each day lessons focused on communicative competences involving oral work, creative writing, language, grammar and literature in English, in order for learners to explore short stories from various texts. I have had the opportunity to give online classes teaching English to primary students and French to high school, where I ensured my students to keep up with their English classroom, I developed a strategy and schedule for each day lessons, I cultivated a hunger for knowledge among students and I engaged them to learn.
