This is to give the best possible review to the best professor I ever had. To some this statement might sound like an exaggeration but anyone who has had the privilege of attending his classes knows what I mean. Peter taught me two classes: World History since 1917 and Democracy and Democratisation. In both cases he went above and beyond what was required by the text book and he always encouraged us to think. This latter point was important to me for I met Peter as I was coming out of the Post-Soviet education system, which in no way encourages critical thinking or prepares one for the requirements of the Western system. Peter took the time to help me adjust to the new system. He didn't just grade or criticise my papers - explained where the strengths and weaknesses of each of my essays were and always gave me a chance to work to perfect the the flaws. He saw where I struggled and helped me through it - that to me is more than a teacher... it is an educator. To this day I would take any opportunity to listen to him and learn from him.
