• ¿Dominas este idioma porque es tu lengua materna o porque un/a profe te ha dado ganas de aprenderlo?.

  English is my native language that I have spoken since I was born. I have lived, worked and studied in English for all of my life.

• Nombra un personaje histórico o ficticio que es, según tú, la fiel representación de la cultura que enseñas.

  When I think of a positive representative of English culture I think of Sir David Attenborough. He has inspired an enormous amount of people to not only study the natural world but to care for it more consciously. He has dedicated his life to education, to continue learning for himself and to teach others. His continuous desire to seek knowledge in every corner of the world is a great inspiration to me.

• ¿Tiene este personaje una expresión, una frase, o un comportamiento que te divierte particularmente?.

  "The final chapter is ours to write. We know what we need to do. What happens next is up to us." It's impossible not to hear his iconic voice when you read this quote of his. I love this quote for its simplicity and effectiveness. In a world of despair, this quote gives us hope that we still have the option to change our lives.

• ¿Por qué consideras que hablar este idioma puede ser importante (tanto desde el punto de vista escolar, como profesional o personal)?.

  If you're reading this then I don't think I need to explain to you why being able to speak English could be helpful for you. But one of my favourite uses of English is as an 'in-between' language. No matter where you are in the world, just a few words of English could be the difference between you being able to communicate with someone or not.

• ¿Cuál es la principal dificultad de esta lengua y qué aspecto podría ayudar a aprenderla con más facilidad?.

  For me, one of the most difficult aspects of the English language is the pronunciation. There are countless different accents in the English speaking world and none of them are correct or incorrect. It's about finding the accent and vocabulary that is going to serve you best. I have a very neutral British accent due to having lived in various countries and cities throughout my life. So by taking classes with me you can learn an accent that is going to make you understood in every corner of the globe. However I encourage you to explore the language and its many accents to find the one that is best suited to you and your needs. After all, accents are fun, Have fun with them!.

• Cuéntanos una anécdota de tu experiencia como profe o como alumno.

  When I first started giving English classes I was deeply nervous. I remember clearly that first class. I doubted my ability and my level of experience. I was terrified that someone might ask me a question that I didn't know the answer to. Or that I would run out of things to say. 'What if my personality doesn't come through the webcam?' I asked myself. But after a couple of classes I realised that this is something that comes quite naturally to me, my incredible students helped to increase my confidence and now I thoroughly enjoy sharing my culture and learning about the wider world through my students. I feel immensely fortunate to have this experience to get to see my students gaining confidence in speaking English, it fills me with joy.

• Ayúdanos a conocerte mejor, cuéntanos alguno de los viajes que has hecho.

  I am very fortunate to be able to say that I have travelled to many different places on this beautiful planet. But my favourite journey so far is the one that I am on now. I moved to Granada in November 2023 and everyday still feels like a new experience. Granada has an incredible multi-cultural history that continues to this day. This means that I not only get to learn about the historic and current day culture of Granada but that of the wider world in General. It is a big university city and this inevitably results in students coming from all over Spain, Europe and the rest of the world. If you're interested in History, Religion, literature, Music or Dance (Amongst others) then you have to come and visit Granada.

• ¿Qué te hace ser un Superprof (aparte de dominar a la perfección tantos idiomas?.

  I like to personalise my classes to each student. you're not going to be learning about anything that you're not interested in or are never going to use outside of class. I remember the language classes that I took in school, the ones where I was almost asleep for the majority of the class. I aim to make my classes feel as far away as possible from that experience.
